Floor coating questions, answered

A rep comes to you, measures the floor, checks the condition of the concrete and walks you through colors and options. It takes about 20 minutes, and you get an exact written bid, usually by email. If it has not arrived, check your spam folder.

It depends on the square footage, the condition of the slab and the finish you choose. We measure for free at your home and give you a fixed, written price, with no surprise charges on install day.

We do not quote over the phone. The condition of the slab decides how much grinding and repair it needs, and that only shows up in person, so every price comes from a free on-site measure. The bid you get is exact, with no surprise charges on install day.

Not necessarily. If the garage is open and the rep can get to the floor, we can measure without you and email the bid. You do not need to empty the garage for the estimate.

Twelve months. That gives you time to plan, and you can reserve an install date whenever you are ready.

Estimates are usually within a few days, and both locations book Saturday appointments. The install date is set when you accept the bid; the lead time depends on the season, so ask us for the next open date.

Yes. Bids are good for 12 months, so you can get the estimate done, reserve an install date and time it to your closing. Right after closing is the best time to coat, before the garage fills up. If you cannot get into the garage before closing, we measure as soon as you have access.

No. We install a polyurea base coat with a UV-stable polyaspartic top coat instead of epoxy. It is a more abrasion-resistant top coat than epoxy, you can walk on it in about 8 hours and drive on it in about 72, so most floors are done in one day, and it does not yellow in sunlight.

An industrial-grade system in three layers over diamond-ground concrete: a polyurea base coat, a broadcast of flake or silica, and a UV-stable polyaspartic top coat that seals it.

Both have some grip. Flake is the usual choice for a dry garage or basement where the look matters most. Silica grips better when wet, so we recommend it for patios, walkways, pool decks and floors that get wet often. Both go over the same polyurea base coat and polyaspartic top coat.

No. We only install; we do not sell the product. The system depends on the prep: the concrete has to be mechanically ground with industrial diamond grinders. When we are called out to an existing floor that is peeling or bubbling, the problem almost always traces back to prep that was not done that way.

Usually, yes. We diamond-grind the slab and fill cracks, control joints, spalls and pitting before any coating goes down, and a badly worn slab gets a resurfacing pass first. We also repair concrete on its own, without a coating.

No. We do not pour new slabs, replace sections, or lift or level sunken concrete. If your slab needs that, have it done first, and we will grind, repair and coat it after.

We do not coat over an old coating. The floor is ground down to bare concrete so the new system bonds to the slab itself. Tell us what is on your floor now, and the rep will check it at the estimate.

Concrete: garages, basements and other interior floors, patios, porches, driveways, walkways, carports, shops, stem walls and commercial spaces. If your floor is wood, tile or vinyl, ask us first; the lifetime warranty covers coatings on concrete.

Yes. The polyaspartic top coat is UV-stable and stays flexible through freeze-thaw, so it works on driveways, patios, walkways and pool decks. We recommend the silica finish outside, because it grips better when wet.

Most garages and other residential floors are finished in one day by our own crew: diamond grinding and crack repair, then the base coat with a flake or silica broadcast, then the top coat. You can walk on the floor in about 8 hours and park on it in about 72 hours.

Usually between 7 and 8 in the morning. Most garages are finished the same afternoon.

Not for the estimate. For the install, the floor has to be clear. If you need help moving things, tell us when you book.

Yes. The crew can work around you, as long as nobody walks on the floor until it is ready.

Every floor we coat, residential or commercial, carries a lifetime warranty against peeling, delamination and hot-tire pickup. It comes in writing, with a fixed price, before the crew arrives.

No. The polyaspartic top coat is UV-stable, so it does not yellow in sunlight the way epoxy does. That is also why it works on outdoor concrete.

Not at the moment. We work throughout Idaho and Eastern Washington; Montana, Oregon and western Washington are outside our area for now.
