Hayden is five minutes up the road from our shop. We coat three-car garages in the subdivisions off Government Way and big detached shops on acreage toward Hayden Lake, all with the same polyurea-base, polyaspartic-top system.
Bigger floors take bigger abuse. Extra bays, parked trailers, winter projects: a Hayden slab has more square feet catching more punishment than most.

An unheated acreage shop is where brittle coatings die. The polyurea base coat keeps its flex in the cold, so the floor rides out a January without cracking. Cold slabs can lengthen the install day and the cure, so we confirm walk-on and drive-on timing, or move the date, before we start.
Every rig that pulls in off Government Way drips salty slush along the same strip of slab all winter. On bare concrete that drip line becomes a pitted scar by spring. Under a sealed polyaspartic topcoat it's just water: mop it up and the floor looks new.
Acreage properties mean real work: oil changes, hydraulic fluid, paint, fertilizer, whatever the weekend requires. The topcoat is chemically resistant and non-porous, so spills sit on the surface instead of striking into the concrete. Wipe it up whenever you get to it and move on.
Prep decides whether a coating lasts, so we do not skip it. Diamond grinders open the slab, cracks and joints get filled with polyurea, then the polyurea base coat goes down, flake or silica is hand-broadcast to full refusal, and everything is locked under a UV-stable polyaspartic topcoat. One day of work for most residential floors, walkable in about 8 hours.

Both. A detached shop gets the same system as the house garage, and residential and commercial floors carry the same lifetime warranty. Big slabs mostly change the schedule, not the process: grind, polyurea base, broadcast to refusal, polyaspartic topcoat.
That's what it's built for. The polyurea base coat is freeze-thaw flexible, the polyaspartic topcoat resists road salt and deicer, and neither goes brittle in the cold. An unheated garage or shop can sit through the whole winter without the floor caring at all.
Usually more worth it than coating a new slab, because you get the repair too. We diamond-grind off the tired surface, fill the cracks and joints with polyurea, then rebuild over the top with base coat, flake, and topcoat. The old damage disappears under a new wear surface.
Yes. Because the topcoat is UV-stable, it holds up on covered patios and walkways where sunlight would destroy epoxy. Around Hayden Lake we typically recommend silica broadcast outdoors: it gives a natural stone texture with more grip underfoot when wet. Bare exposed slabs in full weather get evaluated case by case at the free measure.
