01 / 05What kills Spokane slabs

Old concrete, hard winters.

Spokane pairs some of the oldest housing stock in the Inland Northwest with roads soaked in magnesium chloride every winter. Slabs here fail in predictable ways.

02 / 05Fix it once

Fix it once.

We treat repair as detective work first, grinder work second. Age cracks, settlement cracks, and chemical damage each need different handling, and an older Spokane slab often has all three going at once. After diagnosis we diamond-grind, fill every crack and joint with polyurea, and restore a flat, uniform surface. Floors built to outlast the building, even when the building came first.

Rhino Coatings is licensed in Washington and our crews are in Spokane every working day, from Airway Heights to Liberty Lake, so scheduling is quick and there is no job minimum. Repair-only is welcome. If you want the slab coated afterward, the repaired surface takes our polyurea base and polyaspartic topcoat perfectly, and we quote both options in writing.

  • Polyurea crack fill stays flexible through freeze-thaw cycles
  • Diamond grinding, not acid etching, for a real mechanical bond
  • Repair only, or repair plus a coating that seals the fix in
  • Fixed written price after a free on-site assessment

03 / 05Your install

One crew, one day, most floors.

The same process on every slab we touch, whether it is next door or across town.

  1. 01

    Diagnose the cause

Cracks, spalling, and pitting all have a reason: water, deicer, settling, or a bad original pour. We find it first so the repair holds.

  2. 02

    Grind and fill

We diamond-grind the damaged area and fill cracks, joints, and spalls with polyurea that cures fast and stays flexible through freeze-thaw.

  3. 03

    Blend or coat

Repair-only slabs get the surface blended back in. Most customers have us seal the fix under a polyaspartic coating so the damage never returns.

04 / 05Common questions

Concrete repair questions in Spokane.

Our 1950s garage floor is cracked and dusty. Worth fixing?

In most cases, absolutely. Old concrete is often good concrete: thick pours and decades of curing. The damage usually lives in the top quarter inch. Grinding past it exposes sound material, polyurea handles the cracks and joints, and the slab you keep beats the slab you would pay a lot to replace.

What is the white dust and pitting on my floor?

That is deicer damage. Magnesium chloride from Spokane roads dissolves into snowmelt under your car and attacks the cement binder. The binder fails, the surface turns powdery, and pits follow. Washing helps but cannot undo it. The cure is grinding off the contaminated layer and sealing the fresh surface.

Are you actually licensed to work in Washington?

Yes, fully licensed in Washington, and Spokane is core territory, not a stretch: crews cross over from our Coeur d'Alene headquarters every day. You get the same in-house installers on every job, no subcontractors, on either side of the state line. Call 208-500-1043 if you want license details for your records.

Can I get cracks filled without buying a whole floor coating?

Of course. Crack and joint repair is its own service with its own price. We grind, fill with polyurea, finish flush, and leave. If the floor is a good candidate for a coating we will say so once, in the written quote, and then drop it. Nobody needs a sales routine in their own garage.

How does pricing work?

We look before we quote. Free on-site measure, then a fixed written price covering grinding, materials, and finish work, with no surprise charges when the crew shows up. Older slabs sometimes hide damage under the surface, so we scope carefully up front rather than change the number on you later.
