Concrete repair questions in Nampa
My shop floor has taken thirty years of abuse. Can it come back?
Usually, yes. Wear, pitting, and raveled joints are surface damage, and surface damage grinds out. What matters is that the slab is intact and reasonably flat underneath, which we check at the free measure. We rebuild the surface, fill everything with polyurea, and the floor goes back to work. Replacement is the rare exception.
What makes garage concrete turn to powder?
Weak cement paste at the surface, usually from a wet finish or plain age, breaks down under tires and dragged equipment, and winter deicer accelerates it chemically. The dust you sweep up is the floor wearing away. Grinding to sound concrete and sealing the new surface stops the loss for good.
Can I just get the cracks and joints done?
Absolutely. Crack and joint work is a standard stand-alone job: grind, polyurea fill, finish flush, sweep up, leave. No coating required and no pitch attached. You can start there and add the full floor later. Either order works fine for the concrete.
How long will my garage be torn up?
It will not be. A typical repair is one day, and the crew cleans up behind itself. You move vehicles out in the morning and most floors are back in service quickly; if a coating goes over the repair, plan on walking at about 8 hours and parking at about 72.
