Epoxy floor coatings inMeridian? Ask a better question.
One of the fastest-growing cities in Idaho means thousands of new three-car garages, and too many will get epoxy that fails by the second summer. We coat them with the upgrade instead: a polyurea base under a UV-stable polyaspartic topcoat, straight from our Treasure Valley warehouse.
Do not put yesterday's coating on a new slab.
A garage in Paramount or Bridgetower should need one floor coating, ever. Epoxy under high desert sun and hot summer tires does not make that cut.
- 01
Second-summer peel
Hot-tire pickup is epoxy's signature failure, and Meridian summers are built to trigger it: hot pavement, hot rubber, softened resin, and a coating that leaves with the tread. Polyaspartic handles far higher tire temperatures, so the wheel spots on a south Meridian driveway stay coated year after year.
- 02
Sun through the door
New subdivisions run wide driveways and big garage doors, which means direct sun on the slab for hours a day. Epoxy yellows under that exposure, and clear epoxy yellows worst. The polyaspartic topcoat is UV stable, so the flake blend keeps its color instead of drifting toward amber.
- 03
Cold snap winters
High desert winters are short but sharp. When a cold snap grabs Eagle and Star for a week, rigid epoxy cracks over slab movement. Our polyurea base coat and polyurea-filled joints flex with the concrete through the freeze, then the topcoat shrugs off whatever deicer gets tracked in.
What we install instead.
Meridian is core territory for the Treasure Valley warehouse, which keeps scheduling tight and travel free. The company is veteran owned and every installer is on our payroll, not subcontracted in. Quoting is simple: we come to the house, measure free, put samples on your actual concrete, and hand you a fixed written price with no surprise charges.
Most Meridian garages, including the three-car layouts, are one-day installs. Diamond grind, polyurea in the cracks and joints, polyurea base coat, flake or silica broadcast to full refusal, polyaspartic topcoat. You are walking on it in about 8 hours and parking in about 72. Pick from 13 flake blends or 1,700+ silica colors, and the residential warranty is lifetime.
- 4x harder and more abrasion-resistant than epoxy
- UV-stable: epoxy yellows in sunlight, polyaspartic never does
- Cures in hours, not the days an epoxy install ties up your floor
- Resists hot-tire pickup, the classic epoxy failure

One crew, one day, most floors.
The same process on every slab we touch, whether it is next door or across town.
- 01
Grind, never etch
Most epoxy kits rely on acid etching. We diamond-grind the concrete instead, the prep step that decides whether any coating lives or dies.
- 02
Polyurea, not epoxy resin
The base coat is polyurea: stronger adhesion and more flexibility than epoxy resin, with your flake or silica broadcast into it to full refusal.
- 03
Polyaspartic armor on top
A UV-stable polyaspartic topcoat cures in hours, not days. It is the layer that shrugs off hot tires, oil, and sun where epoxy fails.
Epoxy vs polyaspartic questions in Meridian.
So epoxy is not what goes on my floor?
Correct. Epoxy is the previous generation of garage coating, and its failures are the reason our system exists. What goes down is a polyurea base coat sealed under a polyaspartic topcoat: about 4x harder, UV stable, flexible in the cold, drivable in about 72 hours. A better answer to the same search.
Our builder offered a garage coating upgrade. Should we take it?
Ask exactly what the product is. Builder packages are often thin epoxy or a sprayed finish subbed to the lowest bid, and those wear through at the tire lines fast. Coating the bare slab properly after closing usually runs similar money and ends with a lifetime residential warranty instead of a punch-list item.
How big a garage can you finish in one day?
The standard Meridian three-car is comfortably a one-day floor, and that includes grinding, polyurea crack fill, base coat, full-refusal broadcast, and topcoat. Oversized RV bays or shops can stretch longer, and the free measure is where we tell you which one you have: 208-500-1043.
Is the cost close to an epoxy install?
Close to a professional epoxy job, well above a weekend kit, and better value than either because it is the last coating the slab needs. Epoxy pricing looks good until you buy it twice. Our number is fixed in writing at the free measure and does not move afterward.
Will hot Idaho summers wear the finish out?
Heat is the test this system was picked for. The topcoat is UV stable so it never yellows, and its heat tolerance is what stops hot-tire peel, the failure that kills epoxy floors across this valley. Summer after summer, the floor keeps the color and gloss you chose.
